Does Houston Dynamo 2 Have Open Tryouts in 2027?

As of October 29, 2026, we could not verify an official announcement of public Houston Dynamo 2 professional open tryouts for 2027.

That does not necessarily mean the club is not evaluating or recruiting players.

Houston Dynamo 2 recruits through several pathways, including its academy, college soccer, professional scouting, and international recruitment.

However, these recruitment methods are different from public open tryouts where any eligible player can register.

Players searching for Houston Dynamo 2 tryout dates, registration, or upcoming player evaluations should monitor official club announcements.

If no public tryout is available, players can research the club's technical staff and ask whether there is an appropriate process for external player submissions.

How to Get Scouted by Houston Dynamo 2

Houston Dynamo 2 plays an important role in developing players for Houston Dynamo FC's MLS first team.

In 2026, the team featured one of the younger rosters in MLS NEXT Pro, with an average age of 20.1 years. The club's season recap reported that 21 academy-age players appeared for Dynamo 2 during the season.

However, the club also provided opportunities to college draft picks and international signings.

If you want to pursue an opportunity with Houston Dynamo 2:

1. Play at a competitive level. Build experience against strong opposition and demonstrate that you can compete in a professional environment.

2. Prepare recent match footage. Include highlights and full-match video showing your technical ability, positioning, decision-making, and consistency.

3. Create a professional player résumé. Include your age, position, current club, league, playing history, and relevant accomplishments.

4. Research Dynamo 2's recruitment pathways. Understand how the club signs players from college soccer, the Dynamo Academy, and other professional teams.

5. Identify relevant coaching and technical staff. Research who works with the professional team and who may be involved in recruitment.

6. Contact the appropriate person professionally. Ask whether the club accepts external player submissions or offers evaluation opportunities.

Contacting a coach can help introduce your playing background, but it does not guarantee a response, trial, or professional contract.

Can You Join Houston Dynamo 2 Without Playing for Houston Dynamo Academy?

Yes. Houston Dynamo 2 has signed players from outside its youth academy system.

Although Houston Dynamo Academy is an important development pathway, the professional team also recruits college soccer players and international prospects.

In February 2026, Houston Dynamo 2 announced three MLS NEXT Pro signings from the 2026 MLS SuperDraft.

These signings demonstrate that Houston Dynamo 2 evaluates players from outside its academy system.

Can College Soccer Players Join Houston Dynamo 2?

Yes. Houston Dynamo 2 has signed several players with NCAA Division I experience.

Agustin Resch joined after playing at Seton Hall University, where he earned major conference and national honors.

Gilberto Rivera arrived from San José State University, while Austin Brummett played for the University of Connecticut.

Both Resch and Rivera progressed to Houston Dynamo FC's first team during 2026, demonstrating the potential pathway from college soccer through MLS NEXT Pro into Major League Soccer.

College players pursuing professional opportunities should focus on consistent performances, recent match footage, and legitimate recruitment channels.

Playing college soccer does not automatically qualify a player for a professional contract or trial.

Can UPSL or USL League Two Players Join Houston Dynamo 2?

Players from amateur and pre-professional leagues may pursue opportunities to advance into professional soccer.

However, we could not verify an active Houston Dynamo 2 recruitment program specifically for UPSL or USL League Two players.

Players competing in these leagues can still develop a competitive résumé, prepare professional match footage, and research appropriate club contacts.

Whether an individual is considered depends on the club's recruitment priorities, roster needs, and evaluation process.
