Location: Ricos STAR Soccer Complex
City: San Antonio, Texas
Eligibility: Ages 16–25

San Antonio FC 2
San Antonio FC also operates San Antonio FC 2, a pre-professional team that began competing in USL League Two in 2026. The team was created as another step in San Antonio FC's player development pathway, providing elite local and regional players with opportunities to compete between the academy, college, and professional levels.
League: USL League Two
Does San Antonio FC 2 Hold Open Tryouts?
As of 2026, San Antonio FC has not publicly announced a separate open tryout specifically for San Antonio FC 2.
The inaugural SAFC 2 roster included a mix of players from the Ricos SAFC Pro Academy and collegiate players from San Antonio and the surrounding region. The team is designed to provide another step in the pathway from youth and college soccer toward San Antonio FC's professional USL Championship team.
San Antonio FC Player Pathway
The addition of San Antonio FC 2 gives the club a more complete development pathway:
Ricos SAFC Pro Academy → San Antonio FC 2 (USL League Two) → San Antonio FC (USL Championship)
San Antonio FC has specifically described the addition of SAFC 2 as creating a progression from its youth academy through pre-professional competition and into the first team.
There is already a concrete example of that pathway: Brian Guevara, an SAFC academy player who competed for San Antonio FC 2 during its inaugural 2026 season, subsequently joined the first team on a USL Academy agreement in September 2026.
