Columbus Crew 2 Tryouts 2027: Coach Emails, Scouting & How to Get a Trial
Looking for Columbus Crew 2 tryouts in 2027? Want to find Columbus Crew 2 coach emails, contact the coaching staff, or get an opportunity to play professional soccer in MLS NEXT Pro?
One of the most effective actions an aspiring professional soccer player can take is to reach out to coaches directly.
You don't have to spend your entire career waiting for a scout to discover you, an agent to recommend you, or a team to announce open tryouts.
Players using Cancha Labs have secured trials with clubs in Liga MX, USL Championship, MLS NEXT Pro, and USL League Two through direct coach outreach.
Cancha Labs is a soccer coach contact search engine that helps players find available professional coach emails, phone numbers, and club contacts across the United States.
Instead of searching dozens of club websites and social media profiles, that will never show you the emails for the coaches, players can look up their target team, identify relevant coaching staff, and find available contact information.
If Columbus Crew 2 is one of the professional teams you're targeting, here's how to research the club, understand its recruitment pathway, and prepare for potential opportunities in 2027.

How Do I Contact Columbus Crew 2 Coaches?
Start by identifying Columbus Crew 2's current coaching and technical staff, then search for available contact details on Cancha Labs.
Columbus Crew 2 is the professional development team of the Columbus Crew, competing in MLS NEXT Pro.
The team is based in Columbus, Ohio, and provides a pathway for emerging players to gain professional experience before potentially progressing to Major League Soccer.
If you want to contact Columbus Crew 2, the relevant people to research may include:
Head Coach
Assistant Coach
Goalkeeper Coach
Technical Director
Sporting and player personnel staff
Scouting and recruitment personnel
Not every staff member is responsible for player recruitment. Finding the appropriate contact is important.
Where Can I Find Columbus Crew 2 Coach Email Addresses?
Cancha Labs helps soccer players search for available Columbus Crew 2 coaching contacts and professional staff information.
The platform is designed for players who want to reach coaches directly rather than depend exclusively on traditional scouting networks.
Here's how it works:
Visit Cancha Labs.
Search for Columbus Crew 2.
Review available coaching and technical staff.
Unlock available contact information.
Prepare a professional introduction with your playing résumé and footage.
Contact an appropriate staff member if the club accepts outside inquiries.
Search Columbus Crew 2 Coaches on Cancha Labs
Cancha Labs is an independent soccer contact directory. It does not operate Columbus Crew 2's official recruitment process, and contact availability varies.
Can You Get a Columbus Crew 2 Trial by Emailing Coaches?
Emailing coaches directly is a legitimate way to pursue professional soccer opportunities, although Columbus Crew 2 has not publicly guaranteed trials through unsolicited emails.
Players sometimes assume professional clubs recruit exclusively through agents, scouts, or advertised open tryouts.
In reality, clubs use different recruitment methods, and direct player outreach can create opportunities when a team is willing to evaluate external players.
At Cancha Labs, players have reported securing trials after contacting coaches directly at clubs in the following competitions:
LeagueCancha Labs customer-reported outcomeLiga MXPlayers secured trial opportunitiesUSL ChampionshipPlayers secured trial opportunitiesMLS NEXT ProPlayers secured trial opportunitiesUSL League TwoPlayers secured trial opportunities
These are results reported to Cancha Labs across those competitions, not a claim that Columbus Crew 2 specifically offered trials through the platform.
The lesson is straightforward: you can take initiative instead of waiting for someone to discover you.
If you're a talented player with competitive match footage, you can research clubs, find the relevant contacts, and introduce yourself.
A coach might ask to see additional footage, pass your profile to recruitment staff, or invite you to an evaluation.
They may also decline or not respond.
Direct outreach is an opportunity to make contact, not a guarantee of a trial.
How to Pursue a Professional Soccer Trial Through Email
Identify realistic clubs. Target teams that match your playing experience, age, position, and competitive level.
Find the coaching staff. Research current coaches and relevant recruitment personnel.
Locate available emails. Use Cancha Labs to search for professional soccer coach contacts.
Prepare your footage. Include a short highlight reel and at least one full competitive match.
Send a personalized email. Explain who you are and why you're interested in that particular team.

Follow up professionally. Allow time for a response and respect the recipient's preferences.

Following his departure, the club said its technical staff would take on additional responsibilities during the playoffs while it searched for a new full-time head coach.

Because coaching assignments may change before the 2027 season, players should verify the latest appointments before contacting the club.
Who Is Chris Rogers?
Chris Rogers is listed as Columbus Crew 2 Assistant Coach.
Rogers is part of the team's professional development coaching structure.
Following the departure of Federico Higuaín, the remaining technical staff assumed additional responsibilities during the 2026 playoffs.
A coach's presence on the staff directory does not necessarily mean that person is responsible for reviewing unsolicited player applications.
Who Is the Columbus Crew 2 Goalkeeper Coach?
Alex Blackburn is the Columbus Crew 2 Goalkeeper Coach.
Goalkeepers pursuing professional opportunities should prepare footage that demonstrates:
Shot-stopping
Distribution under pressure
Crosses and aerial ability

Positioning and communication
A goalkeeper recruitment video should demonstrate decision-making and consistency, not only spectacular saves.
Is Federico Higuaín Still the Columbus Crew 2 Head Coach?
No.
Federico Higuaín was dismissed from his position in September 2026.
He had previously coached Inter Miami CF II before joining Columbus Crew 2.
Older articles and club directories may still list him as Crew 2 head coach, but that information is outdated.

How to Email Columbus Crew 2 Coaches About a Trial
If a club accepts external player inquiries, your email should be professional, specific, and easy to review.
Don't write several paragraphs about how badly you want to become a professional soccer player.
Instead, show the coach what level you've played at and provide footage demonstrating your ability.
