Is Federico Higuaín Still the Inter Miami II Coach?
No.
Federico Higuaín is a former Inter Miami CF II head coach.
He led the team during the 2023 and 2024 seasons before leaving to become head coach of Columbus Crew 2.
Under Higuaín, Inter Miami II reached its first MLS NEXT Pro playoff appearance in 2024.
Ledesma succeeded him in 2025.
Older staff directories may still list Higuaín, so players should verify coaching assignments before relying on those sources.
Inter Miami CF II Coaching Staff and Technical Contacts
Inter Miami CF II has published coaching appointments over several seasons, but a complete, independently verified 2026–27 technical staff directory was not available at the time of this review.

Why is this important?
Coaching staffs change frequently in professional soccer.
A coach who worked for Inter Miami II in 2022 or 2023 may no longer work with the team.
For recruitment research, using an outdated name can be just as unhelpful as not having a contact at all.
Search Inter Miami CF II Staff on Cancha Labs
Cancha Labs is an independent directory. Contact availability varies, and users should verify that the person still holds the relevant position.

Does Emailing Professional Soccer Coaches Actually Work?
Yes. Direct coach outreach can lead to professional soccer trials when a club is willing to evaluate outside players.
At Cancha Labs, players have reported securing trials after using the platform to contact coaches at clubs in:
LeagueReported resultLiga MXTrial opportunities secured through direct outreachUSL ChampionshipTrial opportunities secured through direct outreachMLS NEXT ProTrial opportunities secured through direct outreachUSL League TwoTrial opportunities secured through direct outreach
These are Cancha Labs customer-reported outcomes across those competitions, not claims about Inter Miami II's recruitment practices.
The important lesson is that players can be proactive.
You don't have to limit your career to teams holding public open tryouts.
You can identify clubs that fit your playing level, research the relevant staff, and ask whether they accept player submissions.
How Direct Outreach Can Lead to a Trial
For clubs that accept outside player inquiries, the process can be straightforward:
Find the coach or relevant recruitment contact.
Introduce yourself professionally.
Explain your current playing level and experience.
Include your highlight video and full-match footage.
Ask whether the club would consider an evaluation.
Follow up appropriately if no response arrives.
A coach may request additional information, pass your profile to another staff member, or invite you to an evaluation.
They may also decline or not respond.
An email creates an opportunity to introduce yourself. It does not guarantee a trial.
